Why Metal?

Why Metal?

Efficient

Today’s metals, coatings, and finishes qualify metal as a recognized “cool roofing product.” Nothing impacts your energy as much as your roofing and exterior materials, and metal is an energy-efficient option for holding energy costs down.

Visually Appealing

Available in a variety of profiles, patterns, textures, and colors, metal delivers an architecturally appealing look to your home, business, barn, or outbuilding.

Safe

Tested for wind, hail, and fire resistance, metal is an inert, safe material that provides years of protection. Metal’s non-combustibility also reduces the spread of fire in and between buildings.

Durable

Metal is weather resistant and protects against wind, hail, ice, and snow. It is also less effected by rain and extreme heat and cold that breaks down and destroys other materials. A 40-year warrantied paint system is also available from Appalachian Metal Sales.

Environmentally Friendly

Metal from Appalachian Metal Sales typically has a minimum of 25% recycled content and our metal roofing is 100% recyclable if it is ever removed for renovation or demolition. Each year, thousands of tons of other roofing materials are disposed of in landfills while our product can be recycled in its entirety.

Low Weight

Depending on the specific product you choose, metal from Appalachian Metal Sales is one-third to one-eighth the weight of conventional roofing. The lower weight produces less static and dynamic loading on a structure and can be installed over old roofing without the need for demolition and removal.

Four Distinct Profiles

Appalachian Metal Sales offers four distinct profiles – most of which are available in more than 20 different colors. Each profile offers a unique look for your home, business, or building.

Elite Panel

Elite Panel is the industry standard and is the best-selling residential panel for roofing and siding. It is available in 21 colors, has a 29-gauge thickness,  and is available with up to a 40-year warranty.

Standing Seam and AppLok 100

Our AppLok 100 delivers 16″ of cover width, is available in six standard colors (plus bare galvalume), installs over solid substrates, and comes in standard lengths of 5′ to 45′ (cut to the inch). It provides clean lines, modern style, and hidden fasteners.

Standing Seam and AppLok 450

Our AppLok 450 has a 1 1/2″  high seam and is applied on solid decking. It delivers aesthetic elegance while clips provide ease of installation and allow for thermal movement. It is available in six colors (plus bare galvalume).

PBR Panel

PBR Panel “high rib” is a 26-gauge versatile, low-slope roofing application and wall panel popular for both residential and commercial applications.

Board and Batten

We have 26-gauge board and batten that delivers the beauty of wood with the strength of metal. Available in black, white, burnished slate, charcoal gray, and stone colors.
